About Us2007 was a bittersweet year for chef Chrys Xipolitas who married his sweetheart, Ada Nicodemou, at the beginning of the year but then faced the arduous task of closing down his much-loved Zippos in September of the same year due to an accidental fire in the adjoining club.
After almost a two year hiatus, the wait is over for Sydney-siders who became addicted to Zippo’s unique approach to seafood as well as the popular Mediterranean fare which proved to be a major hit with foodies in the area.
Zippo’s restaurant was formed in 2002. A family affair right from the start, it was founded by chef Chrys along with his sister, Emmy, and her husband Nick Orlic. They have been joined recently by their biggest fans: Ada Nicodemou who fell in love with Zippo’s so much that she married the chef.
Zippo’s is now situated at the scenic Kyle Bay overlooking the stunning waterfront. It is renowned in the area not just for the quality food but for the ambience and has evolved into a melting pot - a meeting point for people who drive from all corners of Sydney for a special night out “Zippo’s style”.
